Esther Corpuz

Esther Corpuz is the Executive Director of Business
Development for MacNeal
Hospital
and has served in a
number
of Leadership
roles since joining MacNeal in
October, 1994.
Her primary responsibilities include
strategic planning,
physician
development, governmental
and media relations.
Early in her tenure at MacNeal Hospital, Ms Corpuz was instrumental in establishing
a number of hospital-wide
initiatives that address the specific needs of
Latino
patients, MacNeal’s fastest growing patient population.
Ms. Corpuz
was a
lead supporter in introducing Illinois legislation that
requires health care
institutions to provide trained medical interpreters, a program she established at
MacNeal Hospital
in 1998.
Before her arrival at MacNeal Hospital, Ms. Corpuz served as the Director of
Primary Care for Mount Sinai Hospital, responsible for the overall operations of
14 primary care centers. She
has also worked in various consulting assignments
assisting with provider and physician development activities.
Ms. Corpuz serves on boards of many civic, business, neighborhood and service
organizations. She is the President of the Board of Directors for the National Latino Education Institute, Executive Member of the Board for Alivio Medical Center,
Board of Directors-PAV YMCA and
the Berwyn Development Corporation. She is
a past board member of the Pilsen YMCA, SER Jobs for Progress, Marshall Square
Boys & Girls clubs, Latino Advisory Board under State Treasurer, Judy Barr
Topinka and served on former Cook County President John Stroger’s
health care
transition team. Esther was recently presented with Vanguard Health Care’s
Corporate Community Pillar award and is the past recipient of State Treasurer,
Judy Barr Topinka’s Volunteer Trailblazer Award.
